The largest of the family

After the huge technological leap started by electric motors, the next link in the chain has arrived. In the second half of the first decade of the 21st Century, new types of Lithium Polymer batteries came on the market. And the weight of the models became a secondary concern. This gave the possibility of producing much larger models. And so the Maxion was born. No longer a derivative of the original Ion. It's a completely new model.

The Maxion is a large model for flying at higher altitudes and at greater distances from the pilot. The reason for the model's creation was the pilots' desire to have a model that could be seen at greater distances. Since it was no longer possible to go the route of simply increasing the wingspan of the Ion PRO, a completely new model was created. Its development and testing took two years because we wanted to give you a model with excellent flight characteristics.

The road to it was not entirely straightforward. The big model has already had completely different requirements. What is enough for a small model, because it is actually oversized, has to be done completely differently for a large model. That's why the Maxion took more than two years to develop. Of course, we worked closely with our long-time business partner, four-time world champion in the category of electric motor-driven models, Mr. Rudolf Freudenthaler, whose insightful comments were incorporated into the Maxion's design.  The designer Mr. Petr Švec was responsible for the design of the model and his handwriting is evident in the appearance of the model.

Because only a nice plane can fly nicely.

The fact that the Max was a success is evidenced by the Model of the Year 2015 award, given by the important German modeling magazine Flug Modell.

All of our experience and knowledge that we have gained during the construction of the models is used in the construction of the model. The Maxion's wing is richly reinforced with carbon roving and fiberglass fabric. Thicker veneer is used for the covering. The fuselage is reinforced with an additional layer of fiberglass fabric. The whole construction is subjected to the highest possible strength, so that the Maxion can withstand the maximum stresses of operation.

The model is controlled by rudder, elevator, ailerons, flaps and motor. We recommend the use of modern RC kits for control to allow for many variations of model setup.

For controlling ailerons and flaps it is necessary to use strong servos with good quality gearboxes to withstand the forces acting on the rudders and especially the impacts during landing when the rudders are oscillated.

The fuselage is ready to mount MKS HV 6100 servos from the factory, for which the mounting plates are laminated
